Khazanah Nasional Bhd has announced that the country’s leading e-wallet service providers — Touch ‘n Go eWallet, Boost and GrabPay — have been selected to participate in the Federal Government’s RM450 million e-Tunai Rakyat initiative.
The e-Tunai Rakyat program aims to encourage Malaysians to opt for digital payments for a safer, cashless, and efficient transaction, whether you’re a customer or a small business owner.
Through this program, the government has allocated a budget of RM450 million to distribute a one-off RM30 digital incentive to 15 million eligible Malaysians which can be used at any participating merchants.
How will the e-Tunai Rakyat be implemented?
RM30 will be given once into individual e-wallet accounts to encourage cashless spending and transactions.
Who is eligible for this program?
1. Malaysian citizen with NRIC.
2. 18 years and above in 2020.
3. Annual income of less than RM100,000.
How long is the e-Tunai Rakyat Program?
User can submit their application starting from 15th January 2020 and the program will end on 14th March 2020.
